7 Things to Know About Cancer Prevention from MD Anderson Cancer Center

MD Anderson is committed to providing LGBTQ+ inclusive health care. As we start 2022 thinking about health and wellness, we asked MD Anderson to share some insight on the unique cancer prevention challenges for the LGBTQ+ community and to tell us the most important things we can do to reduce our risks for cancer.

It may seem like you can’t do much to reduce your risk for cancer, but as many as 50% of cancers can be prevented by making healthy lifestyle choices. This includes eating a healthy diet, avoiding tobacco and keeping up with your cancer screening exams.

But some of these can be harder than others for members of the LGBTQ+ community.
