What is your 15-second “elevator speech” about what Premier Wireless does?

For over 23 years, Premier Wireless has been providing wireless mobility and communication solutions to government, K–12, higher education, enterprise and SMB companies. Our portfolio of solutions includes EMM, MDM, M2M, telematics, disaster recovery, smartphones, tablets and more. We are committed to providing a world-class experience, exceptional customer service and hands-on support.

What we are passionate about and what separates us from others is our ability to help our clients enable innovation, safety and transformation within their businesses and within their organizations.

Briefly talk about what led you to start your company.

When I was put in a very difficult position by my boss and forced to comply or lose my job, I decided I would no longer be the last to know when I would be unemployed. It was a defining moment for me. I realized that I had spent my career helping others build their businesses and I knew I could do it for myself. So, I started my own company.

What do you think sets your business apart from the competition?

The vast amount of experience we bring to every conversation enables us to create “out of the box” solutions that are transformative for our clients.

Why did you join the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber?

I wanted to support my community and have the support of my community.

Why do you think it’s important for LGBTQ business owners to have a concentrated voice?

Historically our community has been ostracized and in our current political climate, tolerance is almost a thing of the past and hate and division have become more acceptable. As a collective voice, we have a greater chance to be heard and protected as opposed to having our freedoms and our liberties taken away.

You attended the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) conference last you and are planning on attending this year as well. Share more about the NGLCC conference experience and why Chamber members should attend.

I went because I needed to be immersed in a world that was inclusive and supportive, while at the same time having the ability to expand and grow my business to create new business relationships and to open the door to new business and personal relationships.

Talk about your various business certifications and how you’ve used the certifications to grow your business.

NGLCC: LGBTBE
State of Texas: HUB
City of Houston: WBE
Federal: EDWOSB

The certifications have enabled me access to opportunities which would have been otherwise closed to me.

What’s the best advice you ever received as a business owner?

There are a series of advice from multiple people that stand out for me…cash flow is king, never lose sight, don’t stop believing, yes I am, yes you can, never give up and follow your passion.

What’s ahead for Premier Wireless? Where do you see your business in the next 5 years?

We will be a national company serving clients across the US and internationally. Our portfolio of products will continue to expand, and we will continue to be heavily focused on security, cyber and physical. We will be heavily immersed in the internet of things leveraging sensors to create smart cities, smart schools, and smart businesses and to continue to increase automation in all areas of businesses large and small.

Barbecue or Mexican? Where do you go for it?

Mexican always anywhere and everywhere!

Anything else you want to mention about your business?

After spending more than 25 years in our original location in Stafford, we will be moving late this summer to our new 6,000 sq ft office off the Beltway.
