About
Out for Education (OFE) is Houston’s oldest and largest LGBTQ+ scholarship-granting organization, dedicated to empowering LGBTQIA+ students through education, mentorship, and community support. Since 1999, OFE has awarded more than 350 scholarships totaling over $1.7 million, helping students pursue higher education with dignity and pride.
Our mission is simple: advance educational opportunities for LGBTQIA+ students and uplift the next generation of leaders in our community.
OFE works year-round to raise funds, provide student resources, and partner with local businesses and community organizations to invest directly in Houston’s LGBTQIA+ youth. Through events, corporate partnerships, and volunteer engagement, we help students not only access college but thrive throughout their academic journeys.
OFE is proud to join the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce to strengthen connections, advocate for LGBTQIA+ equity in education, and collaborate with businesses committed to creating a more inclusive future.
