HOUSTON ASTROS ANNOUNCE PRIDE NIGHT

HOUSTON, TX  (February 4, 2020) – The Houston Astros announced today that they will host their first-ever PRIDE NIGHT on Wednesday, June 24 at Minute Maid Park versus the Minnesota Twins during PRIDE Month. The announcement was made during the Astros annual media luncheon.

Last season, the Astros were cited as one of only two Major League Baseball teams who have not hosted a PRIDE NIGHT. This season that changes with PRIDE NIGHT which will include a special “rainbow logo” and merchandise.

With the Houston Astros PRIDE NIGHT theme this season, “Baseball is for Everyone”, the team is committed to fully celebrating the diversity of Houston and honoring the LGBTQ community during PRIDE Month.

“The commitment from the Houston Astros to celebrate the LGBTQ community and the diversity of our city during PRIDE Month speaks volumes and has an enormous impact from an economic development standpoint,” said Tammi Wallace, Co-Founder & Board Chair of the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce.  “PRIDE NIGHT is about celebrating the LGBTQ community and also about economic impact and opportunity when our great city is recognized as not only the most diverse city in the country but as an LGBTQ welcoming and inclusive city”

The Greater Houston LGBT Chamber will celebrate PRIDE NIGHT events with the Houston Astros as well as our corporate partner, Houston Dynamo & Houston Dash during PRIDE Month. More details about the Houston Astros and Houston Dynamo & Houston Dash PRIDE NIGHT events will be released soon.
